Disgrace of an institution

Institute Review
Disgrace of an institution.

Don't know where to start. The school openly lies to teachers during the interview process such as telling them it's 30 minutes to downtown (really 2 hours) and about the subjects they will teach.

The school completely fakes students gpa scores and allows students who cant speak a sentence of english to go to the USA (without any concern that they will drop out) It is called a foreign language school, however only about 6 staff members can speak english. As an expat in the school it is a very cold environment with a palpable feeling of racism towards foreigners. In fact the principal says openly in meetings with chinese staff that foreigners are necessary, but not welcome. Local teachers openly tell students not to take classes by expats seriously. After covid19 relations got drastically worse as chinese teachers would regularly tell students to be careful around forigners as "they may have the virus".

They promise teachers nice apartments, but instead give them grubby unclean studio apartments with mold on everything, trash, u*i*e and dog poop in the hallways.

No training at all is provided. You will basically be a t*k*n white person to be in photos for marketing.
The pros
We got paid on time and the visa was legitimate. But this really isn't worth the headache.
The cons
The list here is absolutely endless but I will list the most important.
- lied to during interview about location of school, student ability, professional development, curriculum.
- the school is a fake international school. By this I mean they have the national curriculum but call themselves an international school because they hire about 3 expats.
- the faculty are generally disliking of forigners. This dribbles down to the students who also treat you with contempt. There is a notion of "you get paid more for being white" . The few teachers in the school that can speak English told us that the principal warned them not to spend time with foreign staff. (Principal is high ranking in the Communist Party)
-management will compulsively lie about everything to try to make you happy.
- there is no training, materials , books or records of what should be taught.
- very few students can even speak basic English.
Advice to Management
If anyone from the Juneyao group can read this please investigate what goes on at the school.
Institution Location
About 2 hours to downtown shanghai. Not 30 minutes that they mention in the interview. It is 30 minutes alone to the train station.
