Institute Review
My experience working with this company had not been a positive one. Thankfully, coronavirus and new government regulations have crippled this company to the point where it has closed almost all of its branches. From what I've heard, 2 branches will continue to operate in Beijing. For this reason, I'll continue to warn people against this company.

I would argue that, in addition to coronavirus and government measures, poor business ethics also contributed to the demise of this training center. I'll briefly list management's unprofessional conduct towards me below:

The company took 4 months to process my visa, such a ridiculous amount of time which resulted in me having to cancel my first flight, for which I was never compensated;

The company promised me 23,500 yuan/month with the contract I signed in Australia. When I arrived in China in March, 2020, I was required to do a two week quarantine in a Chinese hotel, without a bank card, and hence totally at the mercy of the company. The company used this opportunity to force me to sign a new contract, whereby I'd be earning far less money with reduced teaching hours. This came at a huge opportunity cost, as I could have continued earning a full-time salary in Australia;

Management insisted that I lie to both the immigration authorities and the tax authorities;

Management attempted to confiscate my work permit card from me, and then subtly threatened to fire me if I didn't hand it over;

The company promised leave on national holidays, and then had me work on numerous ones;

The company promised free Chinese lessons on their job advertis*m*nt, yet I never received any;

As per their contract, the company promised me 5 days leave, yet management obliged me to teach on one of those days;

The company, even by the final paycheck, still underpaid me.

I'll finalize by adding that this training center broke at least 5 Chinese laws, including evading taxes and recruiting much of its staff on tourist visas. I found it incredibly unsatisfying that I would pay over $1,000 to process a work permit in China, while the company's most senior employees were rewarded for their loyalty after working years on a tourist visa.
The pros
At least they provided me with a release letter as promised, so I could move on from the company.
Institution Location
Nanshan, Shenzhen; one of about 30+ branches that this company used to have. If the company resurrects itself, the address will likely change anyway.
Relationship
Teacher who worked there from March 2020 to July 2021.
